End Cap Gluing is a process used to seal paper rolls in protective packaging for shipping purposes. This process is easily accomplished using standard long open time EVA hot melt with basic high output reservoir guns.
Apply a ring or circle of hot melt to the edge of the End Cap and an "X" pattern within a the center of the end cap and laminate this to the prewrapped roll. You can also apply the hot melt directly to the wrapped roll prior to making the lamination with the end cap. A brief example of a customers use of this technique is showcased here:

Many companies have rejected the use of hot melt because the low cost stick guns have insufficient output, glue stick costs are too high, or the high volume hot melt tanks simply cost too much. The key to this particular applications success is the ability to apply the correct hot melt quickly with a low cost system.
